Introduction

The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) is an American professional association that, in its own words, "promotes the art, science, and practice of multidisciplinary engineering and allied sciences around the globe" via "continuing education, training and professional development, codes and standards, research, conferences and publications, government relations, and other forms of outreach." ASME TKMCE was established on November 2018 under the guidance and leadership of Dr. Rijo Jacob Thomas, Assistant Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Mr. Goutham B Raj (Mechanical Batch 2016-2020 batch) and Mr. Adilsha Kizhuvedath (both students of Mechanical Batch 2016-2020 batch). Programmes

a) E-Fest

ASME runs several annual E-Fests, or Engineering Festivals, taking the place of the Student Professional Development Conference (SPDC) series. In addition to the Human Powered Vehicle Challenge (HPVC), the Innovative Additive Manufacturing 3D Challenge (IAM3D), the Student Design Competition, and the Old Guard Competition, there are also talks, interactive workshops, and entertainment. These events allow students to network with working engineers, host contests, and promote ASME's benefits to students as well as professionals.

ASMEs E-Fest Asia Pacific 2019 was held from 1st – 3rd February 2019 at Vellore Institute of Technology, Vellore. Students of ASME TKMCE participated in various competitions including Student Design Competition (SDC), Innovative Additive Manufacturing 3D Challenge (IAM3D), Aeromania (RC plane competition) and other talks, interactive workshops.

b)E-Fx

E-Fx MBCET was conducted on October 12th 2019 by ASME at Mar Baselios College of Engineering & Technology, Thiruvananthapuram. In which around 110 students from TKMCE participated. ASME EFx is designed to bring the excitement, community, innovation and vibrant experience of ASME Engineering Festivals (E-Fests) to local colleges and universities around the world.

TKMCE students won all three prizes for the Out of the Box Design Challenge and prizes in other events such as treasure hunt, Debate, etc.

a)PROTOTYPO WORKSHOP

ASME TKMCE organized Prototypo workshop on 3D printing and CNC Lathe. It aimed at teaching the various manufacturing processes that go behind a prototype, how 3D printing and CNC machining works and much more exciting insights. The workshop was arranged with a registration fee of ₹50 per head. The event took place on December 3 2021 with over twenty five plus participants.

E paper is a technical paper coordinated by the members of ASME TKMCE Students Chapter. It discusses topics ranging from advanced engineering fields, latest technologies and science related informations.
